I want something that's suitable to ride on in a jazz situation, but that sounds good when hit at higher volumes. I'm a Zildjian guy, so I'd like to buy another Zildjian. (I guess it's a homogeneous-brand fetish, I guess....)

    My initial guesses are:
    1. 20" A Swish/Swish Knocker
    2. 19" K Custom Dark Chinese

Are those ride-able, in a jazz setting?

The Swish Knocker is the "traditional" jazz ride used in the situation. But you realize that many of the jazz guys also used no-name chinese cymbals made in Turkey from a flea market. Or like NP, the Wuhan before they had marketing.

Might wanna check out the Dennis crash of doom cymbals. They have a pretty nice wash when you ride em.
